Progressive Restaurants
Our corporate retreat at Forrest Hills Resort Annual restaurant general manager retreat, one of only two times each year that Progressive’s restaurant managers get together to learn from one another, train and team build.  Our retreat in 2007 came just after we acquired seven Taco Bells in the Miami area. It was the first time those restaurant managers had met their peers and those of us from the restaurant support center.  Getting all the managers housed in one building, the Mt. Laurel Inn, featuring full accommodations, high-speed Internet connectivity and a dining/meeting area. They enjoyed Southern-style food in the Hideaway Restaurant. The group held a volleyball tournament on Forrest Hills’ sand volleyball courts and enjoyed nearby canoeing. Forrest Hills’ famed “Chuck Wagon Ride" featured a horse-drawn wagon ride to the Riverhouse, steak & chicken cooked on the grill and a bon fire.  It was so much fun and unique – people still talk about it. No one in our party had ever done anything like that before.  Forrest Hills was an ideal location for us to do our retreat because of the facilities and the seclusion in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which really allowed us to focus on our team-building goals and bring a sense of real camaraderie with our current team and the new Miami team. The spacious meeting room and outside decks allowed ample room for our small group breakouts. It was a great, fun-filled experience – we look forward to making Forrest Hills a regular retreat destination for our team.

150_emory_poster_sessionIt’s somewhat of a tradition that our yearly Departmental retreat is held at a resort in the North Georgia area. Each year we tend to try a new location in the hopes of finding the right balance of convenient travel (from Atlanta), comfortable rooms and meeting facilities, and nearby recreational opportunities (eg. hiking, fishing, and canoeing). This past year we followed the advice of some other Emory departments and arranged our event at Forrest Hills Resort. The Resort is located in rural wooded mountains a little more than an hour from metro Atlanta and feels wonderfully private. It’s also quite a bit smaller than many of the larger corporate resorts we’ve been to in past years and has a more rustic, cozy feel to it. The food was fabulous, and seemed entirely homemade. The staff was constantly on hand to attend to our needs and make adjustments on the fly. And the small size of the compound and the group cabins made it an ideal place to take enjoy the breaks from our meeting schedule. All in all, our stay went so well that we plan on going back again next year.

Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation
On behalf of Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute, we would like to thank you for the hospitality demonstrated in hosting our Leadership Redwood classes.  On February 15 through the morning of the 17th, Forrest Hills Mountain Resort and Conference Center did one superb job in making our good people feel welcome and the facilities met our needs perfectly.  Your staff were friendly, accommodating and professional.  The owners went out of their way to ensure that our experience was lovely.  Hopefully, we can make this an annual event in Dahlonega!  Obviously, that will be up to our Leadership Redwood steering committee, it's leadership, or future coaches of our classes, but it definitely should be considered for returning to your facility in the future.  Again, thank you for your gracious hospitality and good luck with your future business.

City of Kennesaw Georgia Group
This is one of those letters that a person enjoys writing.  I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the extra mile your staff extended this past weekend for the retreat that the City of Kennesaw held at your resort.  From our arrival on Friday, 1/28, through our departure on Sunday, 1/30 (during the ice storm) our experience was both pleasant and enjoyable.  The service, room, wagon train dinner, banquet facility and staff were outstanding.  I would highly recommend your facility for any event especially when such professionalism and service is provided.  Thanks again for your excellent service and look forward to visiting you again.

I would like to first off start by saying thanks, to you and your crew, and everyone at Forrest Hills. The stay was great. You guys were wonderful! We have done many retreat sites for the organization, and this by far was the best. The stay at Laurels inn was wonderful and beautiful. We felt so welcome, and you guys took great care of us. I think this is why we will continue to make return trips to Forrest Hill. The Food, and the staff, at the Cafeteria was great, the guys are still taking about how great the Cat fish, and all the other meals were. The Maintenance service guys were on top of their game, they were on site, and taking care of us around the clock. Example, if the heat was not on they would be there to fix it before we could get off the phone good. Now talking about service you can’t beat that! I mean this was so wonderful, I can’t say enough. Everyone at the front desk was great and friendly. We forgot our booklets, and had to have them fax over and copied, you guys had them ready for us when we arrived. That was so impressive; you made our weekend so unforgettable. For this we thank you and hope to work with you guys again in the near future. I do think that other state parks, and centers can benefit from you guys if they were only half as friendly welcoming and as ,good as you are with service , and quality.  Thanks for a great weekend stay!!!!!

Torchbearer's Ministry

I referred our women's Torchbearer's Ministry to Forrest Hills for their Women's Retreat this past weekend and I've received glowing reports about the wonderful time everyone had, how great the place is and how wonderful the food was! I wasn't able to make it because I was working with the Senior Choir for a special program they had to be ready for on Sunday but I had told Gladys Ricks (even her husband was impressed) and some of the other lady's that I was planning a meeting for next year, so they made sure they brought back their reports.  Just thought I'd let you know!
