The
Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega
Specializes in preservation through
education of exotic & domestic wildlife. The preserve displays over 450
animals & 125 species from around the world, including rare Siberian white
tigers. Open to the public 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm. Adults are $10 and children 11 years and younger are $5. We accept cash and credit cards only. We no longer accept personal checks. Starting Saturday April 2nd, we will offer complimentary animal encounters on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00pm under our large pavilion.Park admission required. The Preserve is a magical place to walk around or feed some of the animals. The pace of the Preserve is meant to be slow as guests meander among the exhibits. They can’t help but see and hear new things. This is when the questions usually start and volunteers circulating throughout the property are quick to help with answers that hopefully lead to more questions.
There are many places to sit throughout the Preserve, picnic tables to enjoy lunch or a snack, and a playground for the little ones. Another goal of the Preserve is to provide a safe non-commercial place for each guest to enjoy the gift of time with their spouse, family, partner, or self. The Preserve is a place where it is fun to just sit, watch, and reflect. It usually takes about one hour to complete a visit but each guest is encouraged to spend as much time as they would like with the animals.
