No two are alike!  We have 17 cottages in this series.  All were built at different times...some have had minor renovations done some have a few new decorative items added.  We have divided them into two groups...14 with a queen size canopy bed and 3 with a king size bed.  We have been busy renovating the resort for the past year or so but with 111 rooms it's a slow process and we haven't been able to do a much with these yet...but they are next!  Until then, enjoy all of the resorts amenities at a great price! 

We have many guests that have been coming for years that adore these cabins and won't have anything else even if we offer to upgrade them for free!  On the other hand, if you have read the reviews on Trip Advisor I'll be honest and tell you that the negative ones mostly come from staying in this cabin style when expecting a luxury cabin.  These are not our luxury cabins.  When staying at Forrest Hills, as a favor to yourself and to us, if you do have a concern or complaint please let us know right away and we'll do whatever we can to fix it and make it right.   If you are looking for luxury please consider our luxury cottages...they are worth every penny.  We're still ranked #1 on Trip Advisor for Dahlonega though so we must be doing something right...feel free to read the reviews here.

Countryside Cottages:  Queen
  • 2-night minimum on weekends.  One night stays permitted midweek.
ll of the "queens" have a queen size canopy bed as shown above plus the big hot tub in the bedroom, a wood burning fireplace in the living area with open beam ceilings and covered porch with a swing.  The TV reception isn't that great but movie rentals are free and all cabins have a VCR/DVD player.  We have discovered that our guests don't come to watch TV (smiles) so we have not made this a priority.  If you must, we recommend one of our luxury cottages with a plasma screen TV which have better reception (they don't all have the plasma screen yet so be sure to request one if available).

Countryside Cottages:  King

190_countryside_kingThe "Kings" (we are told that size does matter so we have 3 now).  The king mattresses are absolutely fabulous and are made just for us!  They are the same type of mattress as in the luxury cottages.  Two of the cabins with a king bed have the hot tub in a separate room...one of them has the hot tub in the bedroom area.  Other than that, the amenities are the same as the "Queens" but they all look different.  Two of them have canopy beds (decorated differently).  One looks like the queen bed above and one looks like this one.  One has no canopy at all.

King Rates:
  • Simply add $15 per night to all of the above queen cabin rates. 
  • 2-Night minimum applies on weekends except on short notice (day prior to arrival) 
  • 3-Night minimum applies midweek for all king cabins except on short notice (2 weeks prior to anticipated arrival date for a 2-night stay or the day prior to arrival for a 1-night stay).  Try a luxury cottage or the queen cottage above.  1 & 2 night stays permitted with advance notice during most times of year since we have more of them.
