Amicalola Falls State Park
Amicalola Falls and other North Georgia Waterfalls
Visit Amicalola Falls State Park ust 5 minutes away. The tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi. Easy viewing is available by driving to the bottom of the falls by the reflection pool or by driving to the top where a short walk takes you to the top of the falls with a great mountain view.  Walking the built in steps alongside the waterfall can be challenging and fun.  A beautiful spot for a picnic and perfect for a hike with well marked trails through the North Georgia Mountains.  A playground is located at the entrance to the park for kids and if you're feeling really adventurous this is also the beginning of the Appalachian trail...the hike to Maine starts here!
