After 75 years we can do what we want-free at last (so they say) Well it is now one year later and we have to join the chorus of most  retirees when they say-I have never worked so  hard in my life-we need a break.
Fortunately for years we have been going to Forrest Hills Mountain Resort nestled in the foothills of The Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoyed the peace and quiet . We started going when Frank the founder was still there with his kind gentle manner and home style attitude. We return because the resort has been passed to a second and third generation with exactly the same philosophy . The thing we like about the resort is that it is isolated and we can do as much or as little as we care to. The accommodations are top of the line and the food is excellent (all inclusive). If we feel active we can hike Amicalola Falls-4 miles or we can visit the historic gold mine town of Dahlonega where all the downtown buildings are on the National Historic Registry-12 miles. We manage two to three times a year and mostly Sunday thru Thursday when it is a slower pace and of course the rates are cheaper. We miss Frank who has moved to a retirement community in Florida but returns on an irregular basis-he still has an investment in the resort but knows it is well taken care of. We strongly encourage you investigating the resort if you want to get away and be pampered. We understand a new spa is to be opened soon in the plantation home formerly occupied by Frank and his wife. There will also be a photo art gallery of many of Frank’s worldwide photos. Maybe Frank will come back more often however when you meet David they both came from the same mold. If you see Denise you will soon find out that your comfort is the driving force behind her and Michele the youngest of the trio will do anything to make your reservation complete. (Maybe I should get paid for this) but I do want to pass this on to you and hope you will also enjoy this place.
