This North Georgia Resort is a real Mountain Hideaway.

Just one hour North of Atlanta, our little slice of heaven is located at the foothills of the Georgia mountains.  In 1977 the Kraft Family broke ground and built the first six cabins by hand without any running water or electricity!  Originally known for our romantic honeymoon cabins, we have quickly become a popular destination for group retreats, corporate events, weddings, and receptions. From a humble start, this North Georgia resort has grown to include:

  • Total of 85 Rooms, Group Lodges & Cabin Rentals
  • Restaurant featuring Couples Dining, Group Dining, & Banquet Room
  • Massage Rooms
  • Horseback Riding Stables (Gold City Corral)
  • 7 Meeting rooms
  • 5 Group lodges/Mini Hotels
  • 2 Outdoor Wedding Gardens, Wedding Chapel, and 4 Reception Venues.
  • Gift Shop – Outdoor Pool – Volleyball Courts – Walking Trails

Located between the picturesque town of Dahlonega and the beautiful Amicalola Falls, there is always plenty to see and do.

There are over five nationally award-winning wineries near our famed town square along with gold mine panning, underground gold mine tours, museums, shopping, dining, golf, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, and much much more

Stay and enjoy the heart of the North Georgia Mountains!

While Forrest Hills Resort has been an established location for group retreats for over 30 years, we have also proven to be an industry leader as we were the very first wedding event venue in North Georgia. Our all-inclusive packaging makes it easy for group leaders and brides-to-be to plan a flawless retreat or wedding.

Take advantage of our seasoned staff for your next event. We have so many options it’s important to talk to our group or wedding coordinator to find out which group lodge, meeting room, reception space, ceremony venue, and package is best for you.

Cabin Rentals & Lodging

Stay with us and discover the Forrest Hills difference! This resort was built and managed by the Kraft family for over 40 years. We tune in and listen to everything our guests say and it’s by this practice that we have came to be for if we heard it enough we either built it, added it, or changed it.

Our eclectic mix of private cabins all with a hot tub and fireplace, hotel rooms, and group lodging, are interesting to say the least! The best part is they co-exist nicely, with our honeymooners often wondering if they are the only ones here even when we are full. One way we do this is with separate dining rooms. Our restaurant has a central kitchen with three dining rooms…one is for couples only on their honeymoon or romantic getaway, the second is for families and casual group retreats, and the third dining room seats up to 200 for an elegant banquet or wedding.
